Start out with a blog post a day about whatever you have decided to blog about. As soon as you have done that for a bit you can put ads on the site, and start to generate an income. Make sure that you always have fresh good content on your blog or people are not going to want to stick around and click on any ads. Of course, you don’t want to over-run your site with ads either, keep it simple and stick to one or two of the options listed below.

You can use a CPC (cost per click) ad program such as Google’s AdSense where advertisements related to the content on your blog are posted where your visitors can click. When you have people click on the ads then you get some commission. There are also CPM (cost per 1000 views) ads which pay for the number of times your visitors see the ads.

You can place affiliate products on your site where you sell something for a company and they pay you to commission if someone buys from the link on your site. Another way to make money from your blog is to sell actual ad space to people, but you would need to have a lot of traffic coming to your site for people to want to get involved with that.
